The spiral arm in the lower portion of the image is almost white; here, too, there is strong emission at all three wavelengths. The spiral arm on the left is dimmer, but because of the com- bined wavelengths it is more visible than in an individual view. It is particularly striking that the three views overlap so well, when one considers that infrared, H I, and radio emission all originate from different processes.
